What Makes Kareo a “Most Promising” Company?

In a recent blog post, the Orange County Register deemed Kareo a “most promising” company, and it’s easy to see why. According to the post:

“In May, Kareo chief executive officer Dan Rodrigues was named to OC Metro magazine’s “40 Under 40” list, which highlighted notable entrepreneurs, executives and professionals under age 40 from Orange County. Kareo was ranked 58th on Forbes magazine’s list of America’s 100 Most Promising Companies in February. Kareo Expands Medical Billing Services Expertise

This acquisition accelerates the growth of Kareo’s medical billing services, strengthens the team, and adds specialty and geographic expertise. Billing Service Meets Diverse Needs with Kareo

Billing Service meets diverse needs with KareoDave Stuart, Manager of Maine Physical Therapy Billing, is no stranger to the healthcare industry and all of its complexities. He spent four years working for a commercial payer and the last eight years working for a medical billing service. He has had the opportunity to investigate and use many medical billing and practice management systems.

When Dave’s employer closed their doors, he saw a chance to set up his own company, and he jumped at it. “We were going to run the business out of our home, we had a handful of customers we already had good relationships with, and I had just spent nine months investigating software solutions,” Dave explains.

At the end of that nine-month period, Dave had chosen Kareo for the company’s customers, and they were all happily using the Kareo software. “Over my years of work in medical billing, I had created the idea of a perfect system—the one I would build if I could—and Kareo was it,” says Dave. “I have never seen any other system that is so easy to use.”

“I have been in this business long enough to remember the old days before electronic claims and claim scrubbing when things were much more manual and tedious,” Dave recalls. “Kareo’s features make my job so much easier with the ability to work seamlessly with the clearinghouse and post remittances in a snap, and it is so easy for me or the customer to upload scanned documents to the patient account.”

Dave believes using Kareo has had a very positive impact on his customers, which makes his business look good as well. “We have customers who have cut their days in A/R in half since using Kareo,” he says. “I would also say that denials are uncommon—less than one percent—and we really only see them in unusual cases like an out of town patient with unusual insurance.”
