Kareo EHR Enhancements to the Dashboard and Calendar

On Wednesday, August 27, Kareo EHR was upgraded to the latest version. This release includes several enhancements to your Kareo EHR so you can enjoy an improved experience and run your practice better. It has a new look and feel, and it’s easier and faster to navigate with features placed right where you need them. For more information on the specific features, see below.

Dashboard
When you log into Kareo EHR, the Dashboard provides an efficient interface to view and manage daily patient appointments and high priority tasks. The Dashboard displays the patient appointments for the day and enables you to manage the entire appointment workflow, from check-in to check-out, including viewing and collecting patient balances. Calendar
A more robust calendar allows you added flexibility in scheduling. A monthly calendar now gives an overview of patient visits across the entire month. A daily calendar allows you to see multiple schedules side-by-side, and a weekly calendar provides the added ability to schedule reoccurring appointments. New Kareo EHR Calendar

Patient Payments
When you have the integrated Kareo EHR and Kareo Practice Management, you will now see the patient’s balance right on the screen in the EHR. By turning on the Patient Payments feature, you can take credit cards payments and store those cards on file to collect outstanding balances.

Other Changes
There are new features and enhancements, including:

  • New Ob/Gyn templates and note structures
  • The ability to easily find your Kareo ID
  • Improved management of patient records

Kareo Named to Inc. 5000 for the Third Year in a Row

Kareo Ranked on Inc. 5000 Third Year in a RowKareo announced today that Inc. magazine has named it one of the Top 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in the country. The company, ranked #825 overall, was again identified as a top growth company securing a spot in the top quartile of all companies on the Inc. list. In the software category, Kareo was listed in the top 100, grew at triple the category pace, and was ranked fifth for companies located in California. This is Inc. Magazine’s eighth year measuring the nation’s fastest growing private companies.

The 2014 Inc. 5000, unveiled online at Inc.com and featured in the September issue of Inc. (available on newsstands August 20 to November 30), is the most competitive group in the list’s history. The average company on the list achieved a staggering three-year growth of 516%. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue is $211 billion, generating 505,000 jobs over the past three years.

To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2010, and have revenue no less than $2 million in 2013. Additionally, they must be U.S. based, privately held, for profit and independent.

Kareo Provides Tools to Grow Urgent Care Practice

MediQuick Urgent Care Case StudyUrgent care clinics are a growing industry in the United States. Currently, there are nearly 10,000 across the country. Theo Felts, MD had been working in an urgent care clinic in Kansas and saw the trend firsthand. He also saw an opportunity.

Once Dr. Felts decided to open the MediQuick Urgent Care he knew he needed to figure out his billing system and EHR. He wanted a solution that would allow the clinic to quickly register patients and document visits and stay on top of the billing. Things have worked out so well that Dr. Felts is looking at opening another location in a town with similar needs, “I feel like I have found a niche in this community, and I think that I have identified other communities with a similar need.” He believes he has just the right mix of low competition, high need, experience, and software and support.

New Improvements to Kareo Practice Management Announced

On Friday, August 22, Kareo Practice Management (PM) was upgraded to the latest version. This month, you’ll find new Microsoft Excel reporting add-in and changes to the patient instructions on bulk patient statements. For more information on these specific features, see below or read the full release notes.

New Microsoft Excel Add-In
New Microsoft Excel Add-ins enable you to retrieve data from Kareo  and import it into Microsoft Excel where you can use the power of Microsoft Excel to analyze data and build custom reports. With this update, Kareo PM now supports Excel versions 2007, 2010, and 2013. To learn more on how to use this feature, read our help center article. For more information, see the full release notes.

Changes to the Patient Instructions on Bulk Patient Statements
When printing bulk patient statements, Kareo no longer prints the patient instructions advising patients to use the “In Enclosed Envelope”. The statement now reads “Please return top portion of the statement with your payment to ensure proper payment posting”. For more information, see the full release notes.
