Kareo Hires Pam Perry as Chief People Officer

Pam Perry has joined Kareo as the company’s first Chief People Officer. Perry is a strategic hire for Kareo, showcasing the company’s commitment to building and developing the team and culture needed to fulfill the company’s mission of helping medical practices succeed.

“Our team is the core of Kareo’s success, and as the company grows, we want to ensure that all of our employees have the appropriate resources and support to thrive in the workplace,” said Dan Rodrigues, founder and CEO of Kareo.

Prior to joining Kareo, Perry served as Vice President of HR at Appriss, a provider of innovative software-based services that help hundreds of local, state, and Federal criminal justice agencies serve and protect their citizens. She has over 20 experience in human resources.

Improvements to Kareo Practice Management

On Friday, May 22 Kareo Practice Management was upgraded to the latest version. This month, you’ll find several new features including attaching documents within the Secure Messaging System and the ability to receive email alerts when you receive a message. There were also several new features released last month, so be sure to visit the What’s New Videos and Help Center Articles so that you can view these enhancements and make the most of them. Attach Documents to Secure Messaging
Last month a new Secure Messaging System was released allowing you to easily send messages to your biller and employees all within Kareo. Streamline and reduce the billing cycle time by communicating about important billing and collections questions using Secure Messaging. You can now attach documents to your messages in addition to referencing a patient, or an encounter in the message. Starting a new message or viewing your messages can be accessed in Task & Messages on the Menu Bar.  To learn more, read the full release notes.

Email Message Alerts
You can now opt in to receive email message alerts once you receive a message in the Secure Messaging System. If you’re not logged into your account, or are simply away, you can receive an email alert that you have a secure message to view. An alert will be sent each time a message is sent to you, so you never miss an important message.  To learn more, read the full release notes.

Kareo Adds New Features to Secure Messaging in EHR

On May 20 Kareo EHR was upgraded to the latest version, which includes the ability to opt into email message alerts, attach documents to secure messages, and get more visibility around your patient’s outstanding balances. The Kareo EHR mobile application has also been updated to include a new pharmacy search and have included improvements in document viewing and the ability to add/order immunizations from the iPhone application.

Secure Message Alerts
You can now opt in to receive email message alerts once you receive a message in the Secure Messaging System. If you’re not logged into your EHR, or are simply away, you can receive email alerts that you’ve received a secure message. You’ll never miss another important message. Attach Documents to Secure Messages
You can now attach documents to a message using the Secure Messaging System. You can attach documents when sending or replying to a message. File types that can be supported are jpg, tiff, png, gif, pdf, doc, xml, rtf, bmp, xls, txt, zip, csv or html, and files must be less than 10 MB. To find out more, read the full release notes.

Patient Balance Visibility
You will now see if there are outstanding patient balances in the Demographics section of the Patient Face Sheet. Outstanding patient balances will also be visible from the Dashboard when scheduling appointments. To find out more, read the full release notes.

Kareo Mobile EHR Updates

  • The document viewer on iPad and iPhone has been improved. PDF and paginated documents will now appear in a vertically scrolling paginated view with an indicator that shows “page # of #.” 
  • You can now add/order/administer immunizations from iPhone. This was previously an iPad-only feature.
  • Quick Pharmacy Look-up with Current Location (GPS) pharmacy search is now available as a tool outside of the eRx workflow with one tap to get directions or call the pharmacy of choice.
