About the Speaker

Paul Bernard joined Kareo after selling his revenue cycle management firm, Broadleaf Health to Kareo in 2014. Broadleaf, which grew two and half times over in six years under Paul’s leadership, delivered industry leading revenue cycle performance to a wide range of specialties through the use of technology, workflow, and process improvements along with advanced payment and reimbursement analytics. Prior to acquiring his own company, Paul was Chief Financial Officer at Intuit Financial Institutions Division, a $350M stand-alone unit of Intuit. He has also served as a Senior Vice President at Experian and as Finance Director at both Intuit and Avery Dennison. Paul has both his BBA and MBA in Finance from the University of Kentucky.

In fact, 86% of healthcare spend goes to treat chronic disease, and about half of the adults in America, approximately 117 million people, have at least one chronic condition. Research consistently shows that effective care coordination between medical visits reduces the costs of care for chronic disease patients but improves their overall health. Recognizing this, Medicare is now reimbursing providers who deliver between-visit care to their eligible Medicare patients.  Chronic Care Management (CCM), CPT code 99490, pays an average of $43/patient/month. Specialty Filtering Now Available in Kareo EHR

On Wednesday, October 26, Kareo EHR was upgraded to the latest version. It has been tailored to work better for your specialty with the new Specialty Filtering feature. This new feature allows you to hide note types and note templates that are not applicable to your specialty. This will allow you to streamline the note types and note templates that you see on a daily basis while charting, so you can more quickly access those that are most useful to you.

Via “My Settings” in the EHR, there are two ways to customize note types and note templates to your liking. For instructions, visit the full release notes.
